You see something interesting everyday…

Tru dat.

See, I walk to and from the office, this gives me a great chance to work out my now cellulite-y legs. I’d say about 25 to 30 minutes of walking from my place in Godet (near Shopwise) to where I work, which is at Robinson’s Summit along Ayala (near Paseo de Roxas). Everyday that I walk along Ayala, I see familiar faces of people that walk the streets alongside myself at around the same hour that I go to work. But then I also get to observe mundane and interesting stuff as I walk along, like:

  • My right axillary sweat glands are more active than those on the left. Simply put, my right armpit sweats more than my left armpit. I just wanted to make it sound less gross.
  • A lot of people tend to overdo their corporate look. Sometimes to the point of looking ridiculous.
  • At least 5 ladies wear the same design pants. I swear to God, I have seen 5 ladies wear the same design pants while walking along Ayala. I mean they weren’t a group or anything. It’s like I pass one with this pants design, and I see another one with the same design, and so on and so forth.
  • Women with cellulite-y asses should not wear skinny jeans. I have seen some girl walking along Ayala wearing a body-hugging shirt and skinny jeans. Her upper body was awesome – flat stomach, normal-sized jugs, and a small waistline. But when I looked downwards, dear Lord!! Kim Kardashian’s butt, is that you??! It looked like all the cellulite in her body decided to set up a settlement camp on her ass. Seriously. (I’m one to talk when I, myself, am fat. But it was just too weird.)
  • A lot of people dress up like they’re going to a club when they’re actually going to work. This holds especially true for women. Yes, those silk mini-dresses that posh people wear when they go clubbing and other such glamorous clothes.
  • A lot of people smoke in front of the buildings along Ayala. No duh! But see, I thought it was illegal to smoke in front of buildings here in Makati. See, if you pass along Buendia (past Osmena Hwy), you won’t see anybody smoking in front of their buildings. Guards are proactive in reminding people that smoking in front of the buildings is not allowed. Is Ayala not covered by that ruling? Or is it an exception?
  • MAPSA officers are like wolves, they come in packs. If you see one issuing a ticket to a driver, you need only take 5 steps further (or even just turn to the vicinity of the area) to see another officer issuing tickets to other vehicle drivers (jeepney drivers, private car owners, etc.). A lot of people speculate that these officers are in need of breakfast money. Can’t really blame people for thinking that way, though.
  • Meralco lies about their hours of operation. They appear to have an inconsistent set of working hours. Once I passed the office and saw that they’re supposed to be open from 7am to 6pm Mondays through Thursdays and 8am to 3pm on Fridays. But I pass by the office at around 530pm on a Wednesday and see that the CLOSED sign is already hung on the door. What if we wanted to pay our electric bills at 545pm?

Those are some of the things I remember off the top of my head. There are others that I just can’t recall right now. Maybe this entry will have a part 2. Maybe. Heh.

Can you believe that it’s Friday already? Time went by pretty fast this week. Anywho, gotta start working. Toodles.

Have a fun weekend people. :)
